Pacific Northwest Local and Regional Science Fairs

The Pacific Northwest Regional Science Fair 2010 will be held on March 31st and April 1st, 2010 at Muheim Memorial Elementary School in Smithers, BC. Schools and Districts are encouraged to register an average of 10-15 projects selected from the winners of their school science fair.

Schedule

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010
  • 3:00PM to 6:00PM - Set Up Projects, Gymnasium
  • 7:00PM to 10:00PM - Preliminary Judging (No Students or Parents)
Thursday, April 1st, 2010
  • 9:00AM to 11:35AM - Students sit by their projects for judges' interviews
  • 12 Noon - Gymnasium closed. Students return to their own schools,
    out-of-town students participate in pre-arranged activities.
  • 6:00 - 8:00PM - Public Viewing (projects open to students and public)
  • 6:45 - 7:30PM - Award Ceremony (Muheim Elementary)
  • 8:15PM - Project Takedown

    For courtesy to the public, hosts and sponsors, all projects must remain on display until 8:15 PM, then be taken down and removed.
    Once your project is down, if you can spend an extra few minutes helping with tables and litter, it would be greatly appreciated.

Selected projects will be offered the opportunity to compete in the Canada-Wide Science Fair, held at Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario.

Projects will be competing against others in their category:
  • Elementary (Grade 1-6)
  • Junior (Grades 7-8)
  • Intermediate (Grades 9-10)
  • Senior (Grades 11-12)
